Description: James W. Whitehead

James W. Whitehead is the retired director of the Reeves Center for the Research and Exhibition of Porcelain and Paintings at Washington and Lee University. During his 35-year career at W&L, he was also Treasurer and Secretary to the Board of Trustees. He graduated from the University of Tampa and served as a naval aviator in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. His wife of 65 years, Celeste Dervaes Whitehead, died in 2010. He has two sons, James and Paul, and now lives in Houston.
